My husband and a friend hosted a charity night here on Saturday and we have had so many compliments on the venue, it is stunning!! We all had such a great night and I'm already looking forward to my next night out here in a couple of months time!

The Old Regent was a brilliant night out and staff were incredibly friendly. The room looked stunning and no other decorations were needed. We had an amazing night, we will be back and would definitely recommend this venue to everyone.

We had our Christmas staff do here on a party night. Everyone had a great time. The booking process was easy as was the communciation when we wanted to add extra people. A great night!

My first time to The Regent - wow!
Blown away by the decor, fantastic! Foliage everywhere, astro areas, incredible cocktail bar was my favorite! So cool!
Piano keys all around the main bar, table lights giving pools of light and a bit of a Gatsby theme.
Dance floor area was tiered - which reminded me of TOTS, where you could look around and see all the party people.
Staff were really friendly and the Door Staff excellent too.
The 'Where House Lives' event was superb, great sound system too. Highly recommend this venue! Great drinks prices, Gin n Tonic £4.75 very reasonable! Then there's the upstairs function room, equally impressive!

We knew the lower room was where we wanted our UK wedding reception following an overseas wedding. We had about 160 in attendance and everyone was in awe just how pretty this place is.
Our friend Ginge was delighted to perform his swing tribute act in such a setting and the DJ was delighted to perform to a packed Dancefloor all night long. Everyone commented on how easy it was to watch us dance from another level so everyone could see and there was suffice space for the photobooth too (tho I would put them In the opposite corner as people didn’t see them)
The food was enjoyed by all and we loved the chance to have some prepared cocktails and a prosecco wall available for guests upon available - set a lovely scene. Cake table prominent and on the way out a place to put our thank yous and takeaway cake.
Was also awesome we could pick everything up Monday morning vs having to run around Saturday night. So helpful and reassuring..
a lot of locals discovering this place for the first time so the venue has defiantly earned some new regulars for their event evenings. Mandie and Team (security at door just awesome and friendly) really great - Thank you so much for making our vision come to light 🩷

A piano playing friend from the Netherlands did a brief UK tour, playing the music of Frank Zappa (plus a few of his own compositions). Rather than set up his own equipment, he was able to make use of the in-house piano in the foyer and a good time was had by all. Phil Jupitus even popped in to say "Hi". Good friendly atmosphere, with helpful staff.

The owners and staff at the old regent work so hard to make your event enjoyable. The food is prepared on site and is excellent quality. We had the best time at our family wedding and it was all down to Frank, Shawn, Mandy and their staff. Thank you for your attentive service.

My husband celebrated his 60th Birthday at the Ballroom on Saturday and I cannot express how fantastic this venue is, from the moment you walk in it gives you the wow factor. Mandie made sure everything run smoothly and was a pleasure to deal with, the food was excellent and the bar staff were amazing and worked really hard, a big thank you to everyone for making Richards Birthday one to remember. If you are looking for a venue then do not hesitate to book this amazing place.

From the minute we walked into the venue it was clear that it was a hidden gem. The venue is beautiful, and Mandie and her team do everything to make sure that your needs are met. We had booked the ballroom which was the perfect setting for a wedding party.
The food was brilliant and drinks were kept flowing. We couldn’t have asked for anymore and both my wife and U would highly recommend the Regent Ballroom.

I had my 50th birthday celebrations here this weekend and had the best time. The venue looked absolutely stunning, the food was plentiful and tasty and all the staff were extremely helpful, accommodating and catered to our needs.
I would highly recommend this venue and would definitely use them again. My guests absolutely loved the venue too.

We had our wedding reception at The Old Regent Ballroom in Stanford, and my god what the best decision that was!
We knew as soon as we walked in on that first viewing, we were 100% having our wedding reception there, the now wife ensured we paid the deposit before we left (She absolutely fell in love with the downstairs piano bar and cocktail bar).
From first viewing and booking (1-2 years before) to stumbling out on our wedding night Mandie and team supported us and helped us through our planning all the way. The team were always on hand to answer any worries / questions via email or phone and were completely accommodating of all of our needs!
Having one of the biggest wedding sit down meals and receptions at the venue that they have had, they certainly pulled out all of the stops to make it the most magical day ever!
The venue itself is magnificent, so many of our guests were amazed that this beautiful venue was sitting right on our doorstep and as soon as they walked into the piano bar were amazed at the size (most comparing it to be like a Tardis). The food was amazing everyone gave compliments on how good the food was and how generous the portions were, we opted for a carvery dinner with handmade homemade pies for vegans (these were beautiful) along with gorgeous cheesecake & chocolate fudge brownie for dessert. Shaun and Frank done an amazing job with the food!
Once the dinner was finished, we had the party where we had a DJ & 4-piece band both set up on the stage. The venue was big enough to keep our tables out as well as having a fully dedicated dancefloor, bar area and comfortability moving around; all in one room! The way this room flows with is sweeping tiers means no matter where your guests are they are constantly involved in the party.
The bar staff were very attentive meaning no one was ever long waiting for a drink and I was kept up to date with how much was left out of the money I put behind the bar.
Overall, the day went perfect and we have both said we wouldn't have done anything different; I can honestly say The Old Regent Ballroom served us well and was worth every penny! To anyone looking for a wedding reception venue we 100% recommend The Old Regent Ballroom, you will not be disappointed, not just with the venue itself, but with the amazing customer service throughout!

So good place ... all staff friendly and helpfull... a lot of stairs so not a really wheelchair friendly...

We encourage any parties that may have accessibility requirements to book the Piano Bar. This venue can be accessed from the street and we have an accessible bathroom along on that level too. As the venue was a 1930's cinema we really had to work with a lot of stairs when renovating the venue. We had a chairlift for 7 years before it was removed by the Fire service, so now the upstairs ballroom is sadly not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. We were understandably upset at this decision.
What a lovely place, the music was great and staff were so helpful. Hopefully we go back again. This time I was with my company drink Certas Energy.
